    Better than I expected

Posted by Glenn Moyer on Jan 25th 2026

I was expecting a sort of monster manual entry, maybe some interconnected ideas, or perhaps just plug and play quarries...but this book goes far beyond that. It can be used solely with plug and play opponents (in fact one of the enemies listed in it is going to be used in a Werewolf story I'm running), but it offers great potential structures for creating a web of quarries, from foot soldiers to master manipulators to weave into a memorable chronicle. Highly recommend. In fact I must say that every Hunter: the Reckoning book from Renegade has impressed me and provided some great inspiration for things to use in the other World of Darkness lines.

    A solid sourcebook for storytellers…

Posted by Timothy Grubbs on Oct 6th 2025

Monsters are real, the truth is out there, you just have to find it…and Cog might be just the one to help you… Incognito Report is an enemy sourcebook for the fifth edition Hunter the Reckoning game… It has more use than just antagonists…as the book is broken up into four chapters. The first chapter is more for general storytelling, clue giving, how to proper run a world of darkness hunter game if you don’t know what you’re doing…ya know the usual. It also includes 3 useful NPC archetypes you might find invaluable to your hunter cell working in a region. The second chapter covers new breeds of threats…from magical constructs to renegade skinwalkers and radioactive vampires, it’s a nice variety that you could use the same concept for a couple different similar threats (possibly linked to the same conspiracy). The third chapter gets into more unique critters. They are sooo individuals but they all have the potential to be pulled into a larger conspiracy (possibly being manipulated by a higher power puppeeter). The last chapter covers the masters pulling the strings with long term goals and many victims of their personal brutality. All sample foes have plot hooks, NPCS dragged into the world of darkness, and sample rewards so your hunters feel they got rewarded for their efforts (when surviving is its own reward). As for Cog? He’s an online voice guiding folks through the darkness. Originally introduced in a vampire book, he may be your best chance to find something evil before it gets a chance to do something really bad… Highly recommend…
